In the coming months the LSRA intends to introduce the regulatory framework for legal partnerships, a new business structure for the delivery of legal services. Legal partnerships can be either solicitor-barrister or barrister-only and must include at least one practising barrister.

Today we published the draft regulations for Legal Partnerships.

Please note that the regulations are in draft form only and are subject to change. Reliance should only be placed on the regulations which are made law in autumn 2024.

We have also published an FAQs document with information on the rules and obligations for solicitors and barristers who may be interested in establishing legal partnerships.

There is further information on our Legal Partnerships page.

We will provide further detailed updates and information on events in the coming months on how legal partnerships will operate and what this new business model could mean for you.
